While dining at The Melting Pot in Chicago, I had slipped the ring to the hostess to be brought out during dessert. Deb was in shock when the waiter brought out our dessert and inside was an engagement ring. She didn't hear me asking her and I said, "Did you hear what I said?" Her response was, "No." not to the proposal but not hearing me ask her the first time. : )
